Rajen Desai, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with the Witlin Center for Advanced Eye Care, serving East Brunswick, Toms River, and Morristown, New Jersey. Dr. Desai received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine, where he researched the genetics of and treatments for age-related macular degeneration. He completed his residency, chief residency, and glaucoma fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. During his training, he received the Academic Achievement Award and the Best Teacher of Medical Students Award twice.

With over 14 years of experience in vision research, Dr. Desai has written more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Recipient of multiple research awards and grants, he received the Society of Heed Fellows Award, one of only five honorees selected nationally. Dr. Desai brings the latest advances in vision research to his patient care, both in the clinic and operating room, including bladeless, laser-assisted cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
